Fitch Ratings has revised its outlook for ANZ New Zealand to a positive stance. The bank's long-term issuer rating stays at A+. According to the agency the move is linked to possible new debt instruments for senior creditors. These instruments may help cover losses.
The outlook change happens ahead of new regulatory capital rules in New Zealand that take effect in 2028. Fitch also applied the same positive outlook to Westpac New Zealand.
