Members of Parliament have recommended overhauling the BBC's fee structure. They suggest reducing expenses and expanding funding to include areas outside of television. MPs also suggest scrapping the BBC's charter renewal and halting the broadcaster from undercutting commercial rivals for overseas shows. The proposals aim to resolve the BBC's operational difficulties as it faces a important juncture. The recommendations come amid ongoing discussions about the broadcaster's long-term strategy.
