Highway 3 is closed from Hope to Manning Park, affecting local traffic. Wildfire activity left both lanes unusable, stopping travel. Travellers now only use the Coquihalla Highway, bypassing the closure. The fire near Hope is burning northeast of the Coquihalla interchange, releasing thick smoke. Smoke is dense and readily to see, reducing visibility. A second blaze broke out south of Boston Bar on Tuesday. This second fire covers 300 hectares. It prompted officials to close Highway 1 in the same area. Two key routes into southern BC are now blocked.
