Ed Husic, the Australian Industry and Science Minister, condemned Labour’s internal culture after his plan to permit a discussion on recognising Gaza did not pass.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese allegedly described his outburst at a conference as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unbothered by criticism, telling reporters: "put me in a ice box, I couldn't care less."
The dispute followed unsuccessful tries to push the party to officially acknowledge events in Gaza as genocide.
Leaked files and internal files were later filed that revealed serious rifts within Labour’s ranks over policy and leadership.
