Toronto’s general manager John Chayka said the club is eyeing a transaction for Columbus defenseman Zach Werenski following the NHL Draft.
The Leafs have selected multiple prospects in the draft’s final round.
Chayka confirmed that organizations are contacting Columbus to gauge Werenski’s availability.
Rumors also tie goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky to the organization.
Chayka addressed the recent move of defenseman Brandon Carlo to St. Louis and observed that timing constraints demand rapid action, reminding that the club must act quickly on all decisions.
