Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and sailors serving aboard the USS Tripoli came back to the U.S. on Wednesday. They wrapped up tours assigned to the 5th and 7th Fleets. Around that same period, many Marines and sailors stationed in Okinawa headed back to Japan after missions linked with the Iran situation. The Tripoli moored at its home port in Okinawa, closing out its deployment. The U.S. Marines and the Royal Australian Air Force completed joint drills at Dyess under the Trident Fury program this week. In Vancouver, the police marine unit saved a newborn seal pup that was left on its own.
