A plane from Air Canada skidded off the taxiway at Montreal-Trudeau Airport on July 10. It landed, and then moved onto the grass and settled off the runway. Officials closed the strip promptly. No one got hurt in the mishap, no matter how rough it felt.
That block halted takeoffs and landings for several hours. Cleanup crews dragged equipment to the site. Others checked the runway for damage. Later that day, planes were taking off and landing again after the strip reopened.
