Red Lobster has decided to close 163 of its restaurants. The chain has been around for 58 years. This comes amid a bigger wave of closures hitting the industry at the moment.

Some spots have already been confirmed. The Palm Desert, California store learned about it on a Monday. The Springfield outlet is also closing. The company hasn't put out the complete list yet, and they haven't said when all the shutdowns will be done. The closures were reported on 30 August 2026. Customers across the country will feel the impact.
