St. George Dragons rugby league team is a former Australian professional rugby league football club based in Kogarah, New South Wales. Foundation member of NSWRL, dating back to 1908. They achieved notable success with 21 minor premierships and 11 premierships across their history. Reg Gasnier, Norm Provan, and Graeme Langlands stood out among their stars. They moved to Illawarra in 1999 and continued as St. George Illawarra Dragons, keeping the Dragons name. Their home stadium was Kogarah Oval, with a seating capacity of about 22,000. The Dragons’ history includes a strong junior and senior pipeline, feeding success into the NRL era. The Dragons name remains a core identity for the Illawarra partnership.
