A federal appeals court pushed back Temporary Protected Status protections for Haitians just in time to this Sunday. A last-minute order from another court suddenly changed the Haiti TPS expiration date to Monday. Rep. Carlos Gimenez from Florida made his position clear. He said he backs the extension. That support matters because tens of thousands fly under the radar without a decision. On another front U.S. State Department officials repeatedly stated Haiti remains too volatile for safe repatriation right now.
