A French tourist from the Var region has died in Death Valley in the United States after his car stopped working. The vehicle got stuck during an intense heatwave. The man walked away from his car and headed out to look for assistance in the extreme heat. Temperatures soared to 47 degrees Celsius at the time.

He lost his life while trying to get help. The tourist was travelling through Death Valley when his car suffered a mechanical fault during the heatwave. He was from the Var area in France. He left his stuck car to find help in the 47 degree heat.
