FDNY fire marshals are currently investigating a possible blaze that needed three alarms. It swept through a blocks-long scrap yard in Staten Island. The location was at Rector Street and Castleton Avenue. Dramatic clips were posted online, showing flames and smoke climbing high above the site.

In a separate event, a fire occurred at an auto body repair shop in Staten Island. Fire marshals have not said whether these two incidents are linked. No additional details have been released at this time.
