UAE Team Emirates XRG received a first yellow card in the current Tour following a stage penalty. A team mechanic was penalised and handed a official card after a technical problem with rider Isaac del Toro during Stage 2. Del Toro went on to win the stage for the squad after a hard chase. The penalty was issued by race officials after the incident. The team announced it will cover the penalty and take the card.
