A trailer for "The Exorcist: Martyrs" was unveiled Friday at New York Comic Con, with Scarlett Johansson cast as someone tracking a demonic killer. The film is directed by Mike Flanagan and serves as a sequel and a fresh start of the long-running horror franchise.

Flanagan says the project draws heavily on "The Exorcist III" and describes it as the most frightening film of his career. He told reporters the film was meant to be genuinely threatening and that it made him wildly uncomfortable during production.
